Skill Level (3/10):

This pattern is considered beginner. It is a relatively quick project, which makes it perfect for a pre-Halloween craft. The embroidered X on the tail can
prove to be a bit confusing, but it is also completely optional.

This pattern is paired with machine embroidery files for the face, but if this is out of your skill range or you do not own an embroidery machine, you can also use buttons to form a cute face!

Remember is you ever get stuck to slow down, read the instruction again, and don't be afraid to hand sew to increase accuracy.

Embroidery:

This pattern was designed to be used alongside the embroidery files at the link above, but if you don't have an embroidery machine, you can do all sorts of creative things to make a face. Buttons, thread, and paint are just some of the options to give your candy corn some character!

Dimensions:

4 1/2 in (11.2 cm) tall
3 in (7.62 cm) wide

Material Information:

The material used on the example candy corn is minky. We highly recommend minky if it is available to you. It is a high quality, extremely durable fabric with a very low pile and subtle shine. It will yield professional looking results as well as stand up to regular wear and tear very well.

You can also use anti-pill fleece, velour, or any other fabric that you fancy, just be aware that every fabric comes with its own set of challenges.

We like to use sheer weight or feather weight interfacing on the backs of our fabric. This is highly recommended but not required. This will reduce the amount of stretching you will experience when sewing with your chosen fabric, making machine sewing much easier and the shape of your finished plushie more uniform. It also will give you a light colored base to draw your marks on, making them more visible.

If you choose to forgo this step, that is fine. The nap direction has been designed to help keep your finished project looking its very best!
